  • This Week in Tufts Athletics: May 16 - 22

    It’s a bit of a quieter week but an important week for Tufts Athletics. Men’s lacrosse will host Ithaca in an NCAA Quarterfinal game on Wednesday at Bello Field. Baseball heads to Eastern Connecticut State for NCAA Regionals Wednesday through Sunday. Men’s and women’s track and field will look for last NCAA qualifying marks at the ECAC Championships on Wednesday and Thursday.

  • Volleyball's Senior Class Among Five Honored by New England Women's Volleyball Association

    The New England Women’s Volleyball Association announced its annual award winners, and several Jumbos from the Tufts women’s volleyball team were honored. Senior Maddie Kuppe was an All-New England First Team selection, junior Elizabeth Ahrens made the All-New England Honorable Mention Team and Kuppe, along with seniors Kyra Baum, Carolina Berger and Esme Nulan were all chosen to participate in the Senior Classic.
  • Kuppe of Volleyball Receives AVCA All-America Second Team Honors

    The awards keep coming in for Tufts volleyball senior Maddie Kuppe. The outside hitter was announced today as an American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Second Team All-American. Kuppe has also picked up AVCA All-Region honors and All-NESCAC First Team honors this year.
  • Kuppe Receives American Volleyball Coaches Association All-Region Nod

    Senior Maddie Kuppe picked up another accolade Thursday afternoon, being selection to the American Volleyball Coaches Association All-Region team. The honor is the first of Kuppe’s career at Tufts. The nod for the Northeast Region team comes just one day after Kuppe was announced an All-NESCAC First Team selection.

    The Tufts volleyball team had two team members selected for All-Conference honors, as voted on by the conference coaches and announced today. Senior outside hitter Maddie Kuppe and junior middle hitter Elizabeth Ahrens were selected to the first team and second team, respectively.

    Senior Maddie Kuppe of the Tufts Volleyball team is one of just six players who was named to the 2015 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District™ 1 team for Division III announced today.
  • Volleyball Set To Begin NESCAC Tournament Play This Weekend

    The women’s volleyball team is more than ready for their trip to Maine this weekend. They have played a competitive regular season schedule, always preparing to make a deep run in post-season play. They are traveling to Bowdoin for the NESCAC Volleyball tournament Friday through Sunday looking for their first-ever NESCAC title. Here’s everything you need to know:

    After a busy week in Tufts Athletics, the Jumbos will have a bit of a quieter week this week. Winter sports have officially started practicing and many fall sports are in championship season. Football will hit the road for a trip up to Colby on Saturday.
  • Jumbos Fall to Middlebury in Regular Season Finale

    The Tufts volleyball team finished out their regular season on Saturday afternoon, falling to conference-foe Middleburg, 3-1. With the loss to Jumbos and the Panthers are both tied with a 7-3 record in conference play, but the head to head win over the Jumbos gives the Panthers the No. 4 seed while the Jumbos claim the No. 5 seed.
  • Friday Night Volleyball Action Brings Straight Set Win Over Hamilton For Jumbos

    The Tufts women’s volleyball team picked up their seventh conference win of the season as they traveled to NESCAC-rival Hamilton and topped the Continentals in three sets.
  • This Week in Tufts Athletics: October 27 - November 1

    The Jumbos are gearing up for one of the biggest weeks of the fall. Football will host undefeated Amherst on Saturday in a battle of two of the leagues best teams. Men’s soccer, women’s soccer and field hockey all have mid week contests that will could impact seeding for the NESCAC Tournament, which all three teams will begin playing in on Saturday. The men’s and women’s cross country teams both head to Wesleyan to race in their conference championship meet.
  • MIT Edges Volleyball in New England Challenge Play

    On the second day of the New England Challenge the Tufts volleyball team took on one of the nation’s best teams and the Jumbos were just edged 3-2 with the fifth set taking extra points to determine a winner. The Jumbos opened play in the tournament with a 3-1 win over Wellesley on Friday night.
  • Jumbos Fall to Babson To Round Out New England Challenge Play

    The Tufts volleyball team closed out play in the New England Challenge Saturday afternoon, falling to local-rival Babson, 3-1. The Jumbos opened up tournament play with a win over Wellesley on Friday night and then fell to MIT earlier on Saturday.
  • New England Challenge Play Begins With Win Over Wellesley For Volleyball

    The Jumbos opened play in the New England Challenge on Friday night on their home court in Cousens Gym against local-rival Wellesley, and pulled out a 3-1 victory over the Blue. The Jumbos have two more contests on the schedule tomorrow to round out tournament play.
  • This Week in Tufts Athletics: October 19 - 25

    A busy two weekends at home are in the books for the Jumbos. Things won’t slow down much this week, but the Jumbos will be busy on the road this weekend. Football travels to Williams, along with field hockey and men’s and women’s soccer. The volleyball team will compete in the New England Challenge hosted by MIT. Men’s tennis will host the Boston Invitational here at Tufts. The golf team will compete in the New England Championships. Women’s sailing and coed sailing both take the water again this week at Harvard and Brown, respectively.
  • Volleyball Earns Straight Set Win on Senior Day in Cousens Gym

    Senior day in Cousens Gym was a good day as the Tufts volleyball team picked up a straight set win over NESCAC rival Trinity on Saturday afternoon. The Jumbos honored seniors Maddie Kuppe, Carolina Berger, Esme Nulan and Kyra Baum before the match.
  • Jumbos Pick Up Another NESCAC Win With Straight Set Win Over Wesleyan

    Things were about as close as they could get in a straight set win, as the Tufts volleyball team picked up a hard fought three set win over conference-rival Wesleyan in Cousens Gym on Friday night. The Jumbos won the first two sets, 25-23, before winning the third by a bit of a bigger margin, 25-21.
  • Kuppe Selected as NESCAC Player of the Week After Four Wins by Volleyball

    Helping the Jumbos to four wins during a busy week, including two in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) play, senior co-captain Maddie Kuppe of the Tufts Volleyball team was named as the conference's Player of the Week today.

    Senior Maddie Kuppe had ten kills, twelve digs and three aces, and the Tufts volleyball team picked up their third win of the week, and their fourth NESCAC win, with a straight set win over Colby in Cousens Gym on Saturday afternoon.
  • Volleyball Picks Up Fourth Win of Week in Straight Sets over Brandeis

    The Tufts volleyball team had a busy week and a busy weekend, and they finished that week and weekend off on a high note on Saturday afternoon, topping Brandeis in straight sets for their fourth win of the week and third in the last two days. The Jumbos topped Colby earlier in the day in Cousens Gym on Homecoming in Medford.
  • Volleyball Opens Homecoming Weekend With Win Over Bates Friday Night

    The Tufts volleyball team opened up Homecoming weekend with a win for the brown and blue, topping Bates, 3-1, in Cousens Gym Friday night. The win was the second of the week for the Jumbos who topped Endicott, 3-1, earlier this week.
  • Volleyball Cruises to 3-1 Win Over Endicott Wednesday Evening

    Senior Maddie Kuppe turned in 14 kills and 16 digs to lead the Tufts volleyball team to a 3-1 win over visiting Endicott College on Wednesday night in Cousens Gym. The match was the first of a busy week for the Jumbos, who will host Bates on Friday night, and then face off with Colby an Brandeis on Saturday to celebrate Homecoming weekend at Tufts.

    After weeks of fall competition in the books, Homecoming weekend is finally on the horizon here in Medford. This weekend football will play at home for the first time this season, hosting Bowdoin, while men’s and women’s soccer, field hockey and volleyball will all play at home on Saturday. Men’s and women’s cross country will be racing at Franklin Park in the All-New England Championships. Men’s tennis heads up to Bates for the Wallach Invitational. Men’s and women’s crew will both be in action this weekend, and the coed sailing team will head to Salve Regina for the New England Sloop Championships.
  • Jumbos Win a Set But Fall to Bowdoin in Four Sets on Saturday

    The Tufts volleyball team dropped a conference match at Bowdoin on Saturday afternoon. The Polar Bears are not the lone undefeated team in the conference, while the Jumbos are now 2-2 in conference play.

    The Tufts volleyball team had an up and down Saturday, falling to NESCAC rival Bowdoin, but then topping Keene State, 3-0, to end their weekend with a win. The Jumbos finished the week with a 2-1 record, also topping UMass-Boston earlier this week.
