Dorr, Garrido Achieve ITA Women's Tennis All-American Recognition

MEDFORD - The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced its 2019 NCAA Division III All-American singles and doubles teams on Thursday and freshmen Maggie Dorr and Caroline Garrido from the Tufts women's team were recognized.

All-American honors are awarded to doubles teams that were a top four seed in the NCAA doubles tournament, won one round at the NCAA doubles tournament, finished in the Top 10 in the final Oracle/ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings, won the USTA/ITA Fall Regional Tournament, or won a first-round match at the USTA/ITA National Small College Championships.

The Tufts duo was at #6 in the Oracle / ITA Division III final rankings released on June 4.

Dorr and Garrido were one of 16 doubles teams from across the nation who qualified for the NCAA Doubles Championship. While compiling an 11-6 overall record together during the 2018-19 season, including 8-2 in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) matches, the Dorr-Garrido combo also received NESCAC first team doubles honors.
