Adamec Named NESCAC Women's Lacrosse Co-Player of the Week

Adamec was named Player of the Week for the second time in her career.

MEDFORD, Mass. – Junior Dakota Adamec of the Tufts University women's lacrosse team was named the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Co-Player of the Week, as announced by the league Monday.

This is the second time Adamec has earned the honor in her career, the last time coming in April of her freshman year. It was also the last time a Jumbo earned the award. This time around, Adamec shares the award with Maia Noyes from Amherst as the two were name Co-Players of the Week for their performances.

Adamec tied a Tufts program record with eight goals in the Jumbos' season opening 17-4 win over Hamilton. She also won six draw controls and picked up two ground balls. She was 2-for-2 on free position shots and picked up an assist to lead Tufts with nine points. Adamec had five of her goals in the first half as the Jumbos built a 10-2 lead at halftime.

Noyes, a freshman, registered seven points off of three goals and four assists in her debut for the Mammoths. Six of those points came in the second half to help give Amherst the win.

Adamec is off to a fast start in her junior campaign. Her eight goals and nine points against Hamilton were both career-highs. Last season, she was second on the team in both goals and points with 35 and 41 respectively. She recorded five points in a game twice as a sophomore, first in the season opener with five goals against MIT and then again in April against Connecticut College with three goals and two assists.

Apart from the Player of the Week honors, Adamec was named to the IWLCA All-Region Teams as a sophomore.

The Jumbos have two games this coming week with their first road contest of the season on Wednesday at Endicott and then will be back home on Saturday against MIT.
