Co-Ed Sailing Scores 10th in Season-Opening Harry Anderson Race at Yale

BRANFORD, Conn. – Competing at the annual Harry Anderson trophy hosted by Yale on Saturday and Sunday, the Tufts co-ed sailing team placed 10th out of 18 teams at the season-opening regatta.

The Jumbos compiled a team score of 277 with their A division dinghy totaling 146 and the B division team notching 131 over 16 races in both divisions.

Tufts placed seventh in the B races where sophomore Sam Merson skippered with senior Emily Calandrella as crew. The Jumbos had three third-place finishes to highlight their weekend.

In A division, Tufts sailed sophomore skipper Charlie Hibben with senior crew Emma Clutterbuck. The Jumbos were ninth in the division, where they won the fourth and ninth races.

Tufts was three points out of ninth place, where Brown University scored 274 (159-115). Dartmouth won the regatta with a 160 team score, 71 in A's and 89 in B's.
