BOSTON - The Jumbo men's cross country team participated in the sub-varsity eight-kilometer race at the All-New England Championship and recorded a third-place finish out of 14 teams ranging between Divisions I, II, and III on Saturday.

The Jumbos finished with a score of 87 and a total time of 2:14:38.91 in the race. Northeastern came in first scoring a 17 and clocking in at 2:11:21.15. MIT, one of the Division III teams, placed second with a 51 and were 94 seconds of total time (2:13:04.36) ahead of Tufts.
Freshman John Cyprus recorded the Jumbos' best time with a 26:40.80 resulting in an 11th-place finish. Fellow freshman Sam Gatti clocked in at 26:40.80 which was good for 13th overall. Jumbos' sophomore Patrick Nero (27:01.34) and freshman Joseph Harmon (27:04.60) placed 26th and 29th respectively to round out the top 30 overall. Junior Matt D'Anieri (27:14.47) came in 37th and was the fifth Tufts runner to score.
Tufts varsity men's cross country had the day off from competition.
Men's cross country will return to action Saturday as they'll partake in the Connecticut College Invitational at 12 pm.
