Men's Cross Country Finishes Seventh at the Purple Valley Classic

WILLIAMSTOWN - Jumbo Men's cross country finished seventh out of 16 teams at the Purple Valley Classic on Saturday.

Dylan Jones finished with a Jumbo best time of 27:57.0

Tufts finished with a score of 235 and a total time of 2:16:27 in the eight-kilometer race. RPI placed first with a score of 41 and a total time of 2:10:41 which was over a minute better than Willams (2:11:46) who placed second.

Senior Dylan Jones finished with a time of 27:57.0 which was good for 33rd overall and the best time for the Jumbos. Senior Brian Reaney placed 41st overall recording a time of 27:05.5. Fellow senior Colin Raposo (27:12.5) finished 46th to round out the Jumbos in the top 50 overall.

Sophomore Peter Horvath (27:32.7) placed 54th and freshman John Cyprus (27:40.1) clocked 61st for the fourth and fifth Jumbo spots. Seniors Rory Buckman (27:44.0) and Tom Doyle (27:48.9) rounded out the top seven for the Jumbos.

Samuel Gatti, Philip Hempstead, Neerav Gade, Dalton Tanner, Hiroto Watanabe, Matt D'Anieri, John Pappo, Joe Berrafati, Taylor Wurts, Deven Patel, Michael Kennedy, and Joseph Harmon also participated at the Purple Valley Classic for the Jumbos.

Men's cross country will return to action on Saturday at the Paul Short Run at Lehigh.
