Men's Squash Resumes Season with 9-0 Loss at Undefeated Yale

Junior Connor Wind had the best showing for the Jumbos

NEW HAVEN, CONN. – The #24 Tufts University men's squash team resumed its 2018-19 season with a 9-0 loss at seventh-ranked Yale University on Monday afternoon.

The win for Yale improved the hosts to 4-0 on the season. They have lost just two games in their four matches this season. Tufts fell to 2-6 with its sixth consecutive defeat. The Elis won all nine matches today in three games.

Junior Connor Wind had the most competitive match for the Jumbos. In the #6 match, he lost an 11-4, 14-12, 11-8 competition versus Yale senior captain Jay Losty.

The #9 match saw Jumbo senior co-captain Aidan Porges score 20 points in an 11-8, 11-8, 11-4 loss to Eli senior Jonathan Kovac.

In the top match, Yale freshman Nadav Raziel had an 11-5, 11-3, 11-5 win over Jumbo junior Raghav Kumar. Tufts freshman Dillon O'Shea scored 17 points (11-8, 11-8, 11-1) in his fifth-match loss to freshman Eric Kim of Yale.

Yale's Tiber Worth had the most convincing victory of the day at 11-1, 11-5, 11-2 in the fourth match.

Tufts hosts Amherst at Harvard University on Thursday for its next match. Yale, who defeated Amherst 9-0 earlier today as well, hosts Penn on Saturday.
