|Braden Chuilli picked up a win for the Jumbos in the first position|
BELMONT, Mass. – The No. 27 Tufts men's squash team hosted Brandeis University on Tuesday night at the Belmont Hill School and the Jumbos blanked the Judges, 9-0. The Jumbo earned eight of the nine wins in just three games.
With the win the Jumbos improve to 8-8 on the year.
Sophomore Braden Chuilli took the courts in the first position and allowed Michael Jiang to score just seven points across the three games, winning 11-5, 11-1, 11-1. In the second position rookie Alan Litman picked up a three game win over Wit Gan, 11-5, 11-4, 13-11. In the closest match of the night, freshman Cameron Ewan took on Ray Jones in the third position and need four games to secure the win, 11-5, 7-11, 11-2, 11-6.
Freshman Aidan Porges picked up a three game win in the fourth position, needing just three games for the 11-6, 11-6, 11-3 win. Classmate Imran Trehan had the most dominating win of the day, allowing Dunca Lelear to score just three points across three games in an 11-1, 11-1, 11-1 win in the fifth position. Rookie Brett Raskopf picked up a three game win in the sixth position, winning 11-2, 11-0, 11-7.
In the seventh spot, freshman Matt Memmo took on John Goldman and picked up an 11-3, 11-3, 11-7 win. Sophomore John Patrick won in the eighth position, 11-0, 11-3, 11-1. Rounding out the Jumbos line up in the ninth position was junior Austin Brush, winning in three games, 11-4, 11-2, 11-7.
The Jumbos will be back in action on Thursday when they travel to Boston University to take on the Terriers for the second time this season. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 pm.
