Men's Rowing Sees Success at Head of the Fish Regatta in New York

Charlie Cornillie was part of the second-place Jumbo team in the Collegiate 2x race

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Tufts University men's rowing team enjoyed success at the Head of the Fish regatta early on Saturday before weather canceled the second part of the day.

Tufts' novice eight boat came in second place with a time of 10:31.91, behind only Trinity (10:29.02) out of 26 teams overall. The boating was coxswain Tara Curran with Matias Facciuto, Henry Ross, Ethan Donnelly, Alex Williams, Malcolm Zuckerman, Jack Batchelor, Akash Maney and Aidan Bauer.

The Jumbos had two of the top three finishers in the Men's Collegiate 2x. The second-place pair was Charlie Cornillie and Dean Ericksen, who timed 12:33.65. For third place, Nick Hartman joined John Leslie for a 12:48.32 time. Fourteen teams were in the event overall.

In the Men's Collegiate Single 1x, Tufts earned the second, fourth and sixth spots. In second place was James Miller (12:53.37) and Ryan Bell came across in fourth (13:21.70). Alec Whipple was the third Jumbo in the first six, timing 13:26.56. The field featured 15 boats overall.

Tufts will close its fall season by competing in the Green Monster Freshman Regatta on Sunday at Dartmouth.
