Jumbo Men Row in 2 Events at Prestigious Head of the Charles Regatta

CAMBRIDGE – The Tuft University men's rowing team raced in two events at the 54th Head of the Charles regatta on Saturday.

The Jumbos were entered in the Men's Club 8+ as well as the Men's Championship 2x, both contested in the afternoon.

Tufts was a strong 13th out of 36 eights in the Club 8+ race. Their 15:41.555 time over the three-mile course was five seconds ahead of NESCAC foe Wesleyan. Harvard won the race with a 14:46.851 finish. Trinity was the only Division III team to place ahead of Tufts.

In the Men's Championship 2x, Tufts freshman Jack Batchelor and senior Tamas Takata were 18th out of 20 with their 20:24.987 finish. Nathan Lado and Wes Vear from Craftsbury (Vt.) won the race in 17:02.285.

The Jumbo men are entered in the Men's Director's Challenge at 12:25 on Sunday at the prestigious Head of the Charles.
