|Freshman Mac Bredahl scored fourth for Tufts|
WILLIAMSTOWN – The Tufts University golf team is third out of 20 teams after one day of play the Williams College Fall Invitational.
Tufts' four-best scores totaled to 304, just one behind second-place Babson College (303). Host Williams College leads the tournament heading into Sunday at 296 strokes.
Playing at the par-71 Taconic Golf Club, Tufts senior Justin Feldman led the Jumbos with a four-over 75 on Saturday. The four Jumbo scorers were all within two strokes of each other. Junior Brandon Karr and sophomore Henry Hughes both shot 76, while freshman Mac Bredahl was fourth for Tufts at 77.
Feldman was tied for eighth out of the 104 golfers who teed off on Saturday. Hughes and Karr were both tied for 12th individually.
Sam Goldenring's two-under 69 for tournament-leader Williams College was the low round for Saturday. He has a three stroke lead heading into Sunday.
The Jumbos have a one stroke lead over fourth-place Husson (304) and are three in front of fifth place St. John Fisher (307).
Tomorrow's second and final round will be a 9 am start.
