MEDFORD – Tufts University field hockey head coach Tina Mattera has announced that Hannah Richard has joined the Jumbos as the team's new assistant coach this month.
Richard comes to Tufts with four years of Division I coaching experience at Holy Cross and Bucknell, where she was involved in all aspects of the program. As an assistant at Bucknell from 2014-16, she was part of a coaching staff that helped the Bison win a conference championship and earn Patriot League Staff of the Year honors. During two seasons as the first assistant at Holy Cross, Richard helped coach the Crusaders to their first Patriot League Tournament appearance since 2006.
The Program Director and Coach of Lead the Way Field Hockey in Rhode Island since December 2017, Richard graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 2015. She played on two Wildcat teams that won American East Conference championships. Scoring 29 career goals, she was an All-Conference selection on the field and received America East Academic Honor Roll recognition in class.
From Hopkinon, New Hampshire originally, Richard has a Master's of Science degree in Athletic Administration from Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania which she received in 2016.
