  • Maya Herm Announced as New Field Hockey Assistant Coach

    Tufts field hockey head coach Tina McDavitt-Mattera is proud to announce the hiring of Maya Herm as the programs next assistant coach. Herm, a graduate of Dartmouth College, comes to the Jumbos from the Cape Anne Field Hockey club and will help McDavitt-Mattera will all aspects of program development.

    An extraordinary 19 Tufts University field hockey players were announced today as 2015 ZAG Field Hockey / National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III National Academic Squad members. Tufts tied for the second-most honorees in the country.

    Seniors Alexandra Jamison and Dakota Sikes-Keilp have been selected by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) to play in the 2015 Victory Sports Tours / NFHCA Division III Senior Game, hosted by Washington and Lee University on Saturday, November 21 at 4:00 pm.
  • Field Hockey's Jamison and Chapman Pick Up All-NESCAC First Team Honors

    Senior tri-captain Maggie Chapman and classmate Alexandra Jamison were announced All-NESCAC First Team selections on Wednesday, as voted by the league’s coaches. This is the second time Chapman has been an all-conference selection, and Jamison is getting the nod for the third time in her career. This is the first time either player has been a first team honoree.

    The Tufts field hockey team will board a bus to Maine on Saturday with one goal on all of their minds…bringing a NESCAC Championship trophy back to Medford with them on Sunday afternoon. The Jumbos head up to Bowdoin to compete in the semifinals of the NESCAC Tournament on Saturday with the final being on Sunday between Saturday’s two semifinal winners.   • Jumbos Nearly Knock Off No. 1 Bowdoin in Rainy Conclusion to Regular Season

    Under the lights and a steady downpour the No. 1 Bowdoin field hockey team got a penalty stroke goal from senior Rachel Kennedy with 3:04 left on the clock to give the Polar Bears a 4-3 win over the No. 15 Tufts field hockey team at Bello Field Wednesday night. The game wraps up the regular season for both teams who will begin play in the conference tournament on Saturday.

    The Jumbos are gearing up for one of the biggest weeks of the fall. Football will host undefeated Amherst on Saturday in a battle of two of the leagues best teams. Men’s soccer, women’s soccer and field hockey all have mid week contests that will could impact seeding for the NESCAC Tournament, which all three teams will begin playing in on Saturday. The men’s and women’s cross country teams both head to Wesleyan to race in their conference championship meet.

  • Sikes-Keilp's Overtime Tally Gives Field Hockey 2-1 Win Over Williams

    Senior Dakota Sikes-Keilp scored her second game winning goal of the season as the No. 15 Tufts Jumbos topped host and No. 20 ranked Williams in NESCAC field hockey action on Saturday afternoon. Sikes-Keilp scored on a corner just over one minute into overtime to give the Jumbos their seventh conference win of the season.

    A busy two weekends at home are in the books for the Jumbos. Things won’t slow down much this week, but the Jumbos will be busy on the road this weekend. Football travels to Williams, along with field hockey and men’s and women’s soccer. The volleyball team will compete in the New England Challenge hosted by MIT. Men’s tennis will host the Boston Invitational here at Tufts. The golf team will compete in the New England Championships. Women’s sailing and coed sailing both take the water again this week at Harvard and Brown, respectively.

    Five different players scored as No. 16 nationally ranked Tufts University rolled to a 5-0 NESCAC victory over the Bates field hockey team on Saturday at Campus Avenue Field.

    Junior Courtney Peterson (Glastonbury, Conn.) scored the only goal of the game with 6:56 left in regulation as No. 11 Wellesley College field hockey edged out No. 16 Tufts University in non-conference play on Thursday at the Wellesley College Athletics Fields Complex.

    Another big week for the Jumbos teams including Parents Weekend on campus this coming weekend. Football will look to remain undefeated this year, hosting undefeated Trinity on Saturday. men’s soccer, women’s soccer and field hockey all have mid week contests before heading up to Bates for a NESCAC tilt on Saturday. Volleyball has two NESCAC contests on the schedule for the weekend in Cousens Gym.

    In a fast paced contest on Homecoming weekend at Tufts, the No. 3 Middlebury field hockey team got two goals from sophomore Annie Leonard and topped the No. 16 Tufts 3-0, on Bello Field.

    After weeks of fall competition in the books, Homecoming weekend is finally on the horizon here in Medford. This weekend football will play at home for the first time this season, hosting Bowdoin, while men’s and women’s soccer, field hockey and volleyball will all play at home on Saturday. Men’s and women’s cross country will be racing at Franklin Park in the All-New England Championships. Men’s tennis heads up to Bates for the Wallach Invitational. Men’s and women’s crew will both be in action this weekend, and the coed sailing team will head to Salve Regina for the New England Sloop Championships.
  • Chrupcala Leads Jumbos to 1-0 Win Over Amherst With Fourth Goal of the Season

    Junior Elle Chrupcala scored off a penalty corner called with one second remaining in the first half and the No. 12 Tufts field hockey team used the one goal to top No. 14 Amherst on the road on Monday evening. In addition to her fourth goal of the season, Chrupcala also recorded a defensive save to help the Jumbos pull off the 1-0 victory.
  • Field Hockey Picks Up 6-1 Win Over Hamilton Sunday Afternoon

    Tufts University's Dominique Zarrella '17 and Hannah Park '16 scored two goals apiece and the nationally ranked No. 12 Jumbos posted a 6-1 NESCAC win against the Hamilton College Continentals at Hamilton's Campus Road Athletic Complex on Sunday afternoon.
