  • Register for McDavitt Sports Field Hockey Summer Camps

    Camps and clinics are available for players at every level. Younger players and beginners are provided with a curriculum that teaches the basics of field hockey while having fun and making new friends. Experienced players will be presented with a curriculum that combines the fundamentals with advanced skills and tactics.
  • Field Hockey Recipient of Gladiator by SGI / NFHCA Academic Honors

    Gladiator by SGI and the National Field Hockey Coaches Association have announced their 2014 academic awards and the Tufts University women’s field hockey team has been honored. The team was honored as one of the teams receiving the 2014 Gladiator by SGI / NFHCA Division III National Academic Team Award. Additionally athletes were honored on the national academic squads and as scholars of distinction.

    Catherine Malatesta, a 16-year old junior from Arlington, who loves field hockey, singing and acting was welcomed by the Tufts University women’s field hockey team joining the team for dinner on Monday night in what looks to be the first of many team dinners for Catherine.

    Tufts field hockey senior co-captain Brittany Norfleet has added another honor to her senior campaign. The midfielder was named to the 2014 Longstreth / National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-American Second Team. This is the first All-American Honor of Norfleet’s career.

    Three members of the Tufts field hockey team were selected to the 2014 Longstreth / NFHCA Division III All-Region Team, as announced by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association. Junior Alexandra Jamison and senior co-captain Brittany Norfleet were placed on the first team, and sophomore Dominique Zarrella earned a spot on the second team.

    Two members of the Tufts field hockey team garnered All-NESCAC honors, as voted on by the league’s coaches. Senior co-captain Brittany Norfleet earned a spot on the first time while junior Alexandra Jamison was a second team selection. This is the second time both Jumbos have earned conference honors in their careers.
  • Field Hockey, Volleyball and Men's Soccer All Hoping for Ticket to NCAA Tournament

    The Tufts volleyball, field hockey and men’s soccer teams will all be keeping their fingers crossed on Sunday night and Monday, hoping to receive an at-large berth into the NCAA Tournament. The field hockey bracket will be released at 10:30 pm on Sunday night. Volleyball will be announced in a NCAA.com Selection show at 11:00 am on Monday, followed by a 1:30 pm NCAA.com Selection Show for men’s soccer.

    With playoff season here, five Jumbo teams participated in the NESCAC tournament last week. This week field hockey will play a NESCAC tournament semifinal game at Bowdoin and volleyball will host the NESCAC tournament all weekend long in Cousens Gym. Football wraps up their conference schedule with a trip up to Middlebury on Saturday. Men’s and women’s cross country competed in the NESCAC Championship race last weekend, and will compete in the ECAC Championships this weekend. The sailing team will be back on the water, as they race in the Hap Moore Trophy at Coast Guard.

    Tufts University junior Dakota Sikes-Keilp scored the game-winner in the 47th minute to lift the fifth-seeded Jumbos to a 1-0 victory over fourth-seeded Amherst College in NESCAC field hockey quarterfinal action Saturday at Gooding Field.

    MEDFORD – Three Jumbos teams will begin their quests for a NESCAC Championship this weekend with Quarterfinal games on Saturday. Twelfth ranked men’s soccer will host Connecticut College on Kraft Field at 12:00 pm, while #9 field hockey travels to Amherst for a 1:00 pm start time and women’s soccer heads back up to Brunswick, Maine to take on Bowdoin at 12:30 pm.

    Tuesday begins a busy and important week for many fall sports teams. Field hockey, men’s soccer and women’s soccer all travel to Bowdoin for midweek contests before opening up NESCAC tournament play on Saturday. Football hosts Colby in their last home contest of the year while volleyball hopes to secure conference tournament hosting rights with a trip to Hamilton and Middlebury.

    The #9 Jumbos had a perfect sunny afternoon for their final home contest of the regular season, and they used two first half goals en route to a 3-2 win over visiting Hamilton College on Bello field. Saturday was senior day for the team. Senior Colleen Golja, and senior co-captains Bri Keenan and Brittany Norfleet were honored prior to the start of the contest.

    After a busy parents weekend and a successful weekend for many Jumbos teams, ten Jumbo teams will resume competition this week. Football looks to move to 3-2 on the season and pick up their first road win with a trip to Amherst. After picking up two big wins last week, field hockey hosts Hamilton on Saturday.

    The #10 Tufts field hockey team and Williams played just over 55 minutes of scoreless field hockey on Saturday afternoon before the two teams combined to score three goals in 11 minutes. Fortunately for the Jumbos, two of those goals were theirs, and they were able to edge the Ephs, 2-1, in NESCAC action on Bello field.
  • Thirteen From Field Hockey Make Jumbo Donation with 118 Inches of Hair

    Last spring field hockey head coach Tina McDavitt asked her team if anyone would be interested in cutting their hair and donating it to charity. Today, 13 players received haircuts resulting in 118 inches of hair donated to charity.

The volleyball team will host Williams on Friday and Amherst and Endicott on Saturday, playing for conference tournament hosting rights with the Ephs and the Lord Jeffs. Football will look to put another tally in the win column as they host Williams on Saturday.

    Junior Dakota Sikes Keilp knocked in her first goal of the season and junior Rachel Terveer added two of her own to help the #7 Tufts field hockey team earn a 4-1 win at Connecticut College on Saturday afternoon. The Jumbos are now in fourth place in the NESCAC, tied with Williams and Trinity. The Bantams and the Jumbos will face off tomorrow.

    Tuesday starts a busy week in Jumbo nation. The women’s soccer team hosts Endicott on Tuesday before hitting the road to take on Conn. College and Trinity this weekend in NESCAC play. The volleyball team returns home on Friday for the first time since in nearly a month, taking on Wesleyan on Friday and Trinity on Saturday. Football will be looking to knock off NESCAC-rival Trinity on Saturday in Hartford, Conn.

    Pam Schulman tallied two goals and assisted on a career-high three others lifting fourth-ranked Middlebury to a 6-1 victory Saturday over fifth-ranked Tufts on a rain-soaked Kohn Field. With the win, Panther head coach Katharine DeLorenzo recorded her 200th victory (200-50) in her 11th season at Middlebury. Overall, DeLorenzo’s career record as a head coach sits at 295-114-2.
