HARTFORD – First-year RHP Cameron Crowley tossed a four-hitter with three strikeouts, improving his season record to 7-0, to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 7-1 victory over the visiting Tufts University Jumbos in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) East Division baseball action Sunday afternoon on Murren Family Field at DiBenedetto Stadium.

Trinity improves to 25-7 overall and completes its division record at 8-4. Tufts improves to 23-7 overall and 8-2 in the division. Trinity hosts Union on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in its final home game, while the Jumbos visit Eastern Connecticut tomorrow at 6 p.m.
Crowley walked the first batter of the game and allowed just one single through four scoreless innings to start. He ran into trouble in the fifth with two walks and a single by junior 2B Elias Varinos among the first four batters, but got out of it with just one Jumbo run on a sacrifice fly by Justin Mills. He yielded just two walks and a single over the next three innings, and finished the game with a scoreless ninth despite two baserunners.
Trinity senior Tyler Buckley paced the offense with three hits in four at-bats, a run, and an rbi. Senior SS Ben Reinisch, junior tri-captain Alex Rodriguez, and sophomore Robbie Cronin each added two hits for the Bantams.
Trinity scored in each of the first four innings, beginning with a double steal that scored Reinisch from third in the bottom of the first. Stillman squeezed home Cronin and Buckley scored on a ground ball by junior OF Matt Koperniak in the second inning, while Rodriguez led off with a double and scored on a two-out, rbi single by Buckley in the third.
The Bantams went ahead, 6-0, in the fourth inning thanks to an RBI single by junior OF Brett Stevenson and a sacrifice fly by senior tri-captain 1B Johnny Stamatis. Stevenson added a sacrifice fly in the seventh for the last run of the game.
Six Jumbos took the mound today, and junior starter Brent Greeley took the loss. Scnepf walked twice and scored, while both Varinos and Shackelford had a hit and a walk.
