Sixty Jumbos who played fall sports during the 2011 season were announced today as All-Academic selections by the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC).

Women's Cross Country Hopes to Take Advantage of NCAA Championship Race Opportunity
The Tufts women's cross country team realized its primary goal for the 2011 season when they earned a berth into the NCAA National Championship Race. Now when they race at Nationals in Winnesconne, Wisconsin on Saturday, they will be trying to take it one step further.

The Tufts women's cross country team received one of 16 at-large berths into the 2011 NCAA Division III Championship Race which will be held on Saturday (Nov. 19) at Lake Breeze Golf Course in Winneconne, WI. The race will begin at noon ET.

Women's Cross Country Team In The Running To Qualify Nationally At Regional Race On Saturday
The Tufts Women's Cross Country team will be looking for a strong showing at the NCAA Regional Championship on Saturday at Bowdoin College. Coach Kristen Morwick's squad seeks to be the first Tufts team to qualify for the NCAA Championship race since 2006. Start time is 11 am.

The Tufts women's cross country team won the Mayor's Cup open five-kilometer race at Franklin Park on Sunday. Racing without their top runners, the Jumbos were still able to best several club teams and other sub-varsity squads.

FISHER AND CREATH LEAD WOMEN’S CROSS COUNTRY TO 22ND AT ALL-NEW ENGLAND CHAMPIONSHIP
The Tufts women's cross country team placed 22nd out of 39 teams at the All-New England Championship at Franklin Park on Saturday. The Jumbo team finished seventh among Division III teams in a field that also consisted of Division I and II teams.

FISHER LEADS WOMEN’S CROSS COUNTRY TO FOURTH PLACE FINISH AT CODFISH BOWL
The Jumbo women's cross country team placed five runners in the top 40 of the 231-competitor field to take fourth of 23 teams at the Codfish Bowl in Boston on Saturday. The Jumbos were the first Division III team, besting Bates by 54 points.

Tufts accumulated a score of 49 to defeat second place Colby by eight points. Keene State took third with 60 points, followed by Bowdoin, Bates, Trinity, and Mount Holyoke.

EVEN WITHOUT THEIR FRONT-RUNNER, WOMEN'S XC LOOKS TO HOLD THEIR OWN IN COMPETITIVE NEW ENGLAND REGION
Although the Tufts women's cross country team lost 2009 All-American Amy Wilfert to graduation, the squad returns the other six members of the varsity team and will look to improve on last fall's eighth place finish at the NCAA Regional Championship.
