Senior Amy Wilfert (Westborough, MA) of the Tufts women's outdoor track & field team qualified for the finals of the 1,500 meters on the first day of the NCAA Div. III Championships at Ohio Wesleyan University on Thursday.

WALLIN NAMED WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD NEW ENGLAND ASSISTANT COACH OF THE YEAR
The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) recently announced its winners of regional awards for the 2011 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field season, and Tufts University's Lisa Wallin was recognized as the Women's Assistant Coach of the Year for New England.

SEVEN FROM WOMEN'S OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD QUALIFY TO COMPETE AT NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS
Seven members of the 2011 Tufts women's outdoor track & field team earned berths into the NCAA Division III Championships to be held this coming Thursday through Saturday (May 26-28) at Ohio Wesleyan University. That is the most for the Tufts team since the 2000 season.

THREE TITLES WON, JUMBOS PLACE THIRD AT WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD ECAC CHAMPIONSHIPS
Juniors Nakeisha Jones (Boston, MA) and Ronke Oyekunle (Harvard, MA) along with sophomore Kelly Allen (Norton, MA) won 2011 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) championships for the Tufts women's outdoor track & field team at Moravian College on Thursday and Friday. Coach Kristen Morwick's Jumbos placed third at the annual ECAC meet with 54 points scored.

WOMEN'S OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD SCORES 10TH AT ALL-NEW ENGLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Tufts women's outdoor track & field team is one of the top 10 in New England regardless of division based upon the team's 10th place finish at the 2011 New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Championships. Tufts scored 36.33 points at the meet, which featured teams from Divisions I, II and III and was hosted by Southern Connecticut over the weekend.

Her performances in New Jersey won Allen this week's New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Field Performer of the Week award.

The Tufts University women's indoor track & field team placed 20th at the annual NEICAAA Championships - featuring New England Divison I, II and III programs - on Friday and Saturday at Boston University. Junior triple jumper Nakeisha Jones (Boston, MA) improved her NCAA qualifying mark and the 4x400 relay established a qualifying time to lead the Jumbo effort.

In the final home invitational of the 2010-11 season at the Gantcher Center on Saturday, Tufts sophomore thrower Kelly Allen (Norton, MA) broke the women's indoor track & field team's weight throw record for the third straight week and junior Heather Theiss (North Woodmere, NY) won the pole vault for the third straight week in a non-scoring meet.

On Friday night, first year Jana Hieber (Goffstown, NH) won the pentathlon with an NCAA provisional qualifying score of 3,015 points, and on Saturday sophomore Kelly Allen (Norton, MA) recorded a schol-record weight throw of 49'4 1/4" (15.04m) to highlight two days of home women's indoor track & field action at the Gantcher Center over the weekend.
