MEDFORD – The #18 Tufts women’s tennis team will
travel to Brunswick, ME this weekend to compete in the NESCAC
Championships at Bowdoin College. The Jumbos have drawn the #5 seed
and will face off against fourth seeded and #10 nationally ranked
Middlebury on Friday at 10:30 am.
The women have compiled a 9-8 record this year with a 5-4 conference mark. The five NESCAC wins include a 5-4 win over conference championship qualifier Trinity earlier this season.
The Jumbos took on Middlebury on April 25 but weren’t able to top the Panthers, falling 7-2. In last year’s conference tournament the Jumbos also drew Middlebury in the opening draw, but fell 5-1.
The winner of the Tufts Middlebury match will take on #1 seeded Amherst at 8:00 am on Saturday morning in second round play.
