JUMBOS OUT AT NCAA DIVISION III WOMEN'S TENNIS SINGLES AND DOUBLES CHAMPIONSHIPS
The successful 2010-11 Tufts University women's tennis season ended on Saturday at the NCAA Div. III Singles and Doubles Championships as senior Julia Browne (Old Brookville, NY) was eliminated in singles, and Browne with first year Shelci Bowman (Dallas, TX) were knocked out in doubles.

JUMBOS FALL 5-1 TO AMHERST IN NCAA WOMEN'S TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP QUARTERFINAL MATCH
The Amherst College women's tennis team advanced to the semi-final round of the NCAA Division III Championship on Tuesday with a 5-1 victory over Tufts University in the quarterfinals played at the Biszantz Family Tennis Center.

WOMEN'S TENNIS TO FACE AMHERST IN QUARTERFINAL ROUND OF NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP ON TUESDAY
The Tufts University women's tennis team will play NESCAC rival Amherst College for the second time this season on Tuesday (May 24), except this time the teams will meet on the other side of the country. The match is an NCAA Championship Quarterfinal, which will be played at Biszantz Family Tennis Center in Claremeont, California beginning at 9 am.

JULIA BROWNE, ASSISTANT COACH JAIME KENNEY EARN ITA NORTHEAST REGION AWARDS FOR 2011
The Wilson/Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) 2011 Division III Awards were announced recently and two members of the Tufts University women's tennis program were recognized. Senior tri-captain Julia Browne (Old Brookville, NY) was named Wilson/ITA Northeast Region Senior Player of the Year, and Jaime Kenney was selected as the Northeast's Assistant Coach of the Year.

WOMEN'S TENNIS ADVANCES TO NATIONAL QUARTERFINALS FOR FIRST TIME AFTER WIN OVER JHU
For the first time in team history, the Tufts women's tennis team will play in the NCAA Division III Championship quarterfinals after the Jumbos posted a 5-1 victory against Johns Hopkins University in the NCAA regional final on Sunday afternoon.

WOMEN'S TENNIS RECORDS 5-0 VICTORY OVER HUNTER COLLEGE IN NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP SECOND ROUND
The Tufts women's tennis team will play Johns Hopkins University in an NCAA regional final tomorrow after defeating Hunter College, 5-0, on Saturday in a second round match played at Goucher College. Tufts (15-5) set a new school record for wins with the result.

JULIA BROWNE, COACH BAYARD EARN MAJOR AWARDS AS 2011 ALL-NESCAC TEAMS ARE RELEASED
For the third straight season, Julia Browne (old Brookville, NY) of the Tufts women's tennis team is the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Player of the Year as voted by the conference's 11 head coaches. And for the second time of her tenure at Tufts, Coach Kate Bayard was selected as the conference's Coach of the Year. Those were the highlights as the 2011 NESCAC All-Conference Teams were released today.

BROWNE IN SINGLES, BROWNE/BOWMAN IN DOUBLES BEGIN NCAA WOMEN'S TENNIS PLAY
Defending NCAA Division III singles champion Julia Browne (Old Brookville, NY) of the Tufts women's tennis team will put her title on the line May 27-29 at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and Pomona-Pitzer Colleges in Claremont, California. Browne was one of the 32 singles players selected to play in the 2011 NCAA Singles Championship, while she and teammate Shelci Bowman (Dallas, TX) were one of 16 duos chosen for the NCAA Doubles draw.

The Tufts University women's tennis team is back in familiar territory with the beginning of the NCAA Division III Championships this weekend. The Jumbos earned their 11th consecutive berth and will be in action at Johns Hopkins University.

WOMEN'S TENNIS FINISHES REGULAR SEASON WITH 9-0 NESCAC SHUTOUT OF BATES COLLEGE
The Tufts University women's tennis team finished its 2010-11 regular season with a 13-4 record after shutting out Bates 9-0 in a NESCAC match on Wednesday afternoon. The Jumbos now await their seed in the NESCAC Championship, the six-team tournament that begins on May 6.

Top ranked Amherst College and #5 Tufts University battled for six hours on Tuesday as play was moved indoors due to rain, and the visiting Lord Jeffs emerged with a 5-4 victory in a NESCAC women's tennis match at the Gantcher Center.

The Tufts University women's tennis team had no problem with two nationally ranked teams today during play at the Wellesley Invitational. Tufts defeated #18 College of New Jersey (TCNJ), 5-0, and then posted an 8-1 victory against #30 Brandeis.

Moved up to #5 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association national poll this week, the Tufts University women's tennis team flexed its muscle with a 9-0 NESCAC win over Colby College on Saturday afternoon at Voute Courts. The match was the first for the Jumbos in NESCAC play for the 2010-11 season.
