Kimura of Women's Swimming and Diving Competes in First Day of NCAA Championships

MEDFORD, Mass. – Senior tri-captain  Anna Kimura of the Tufts University women's swimming and diving team competed in the first of four days of competition at the NCAA Championships in Indianapolis, Indiana on Wednesday.

Kimura swam in the 200 IM where she came into the event seeded 34th, which meant she had the 34th fastest qualifying time in the nation. Her time in the preliminaries wasn't fast enough to advance to the finals, but she still improved upon that mark finishing 30th with a time of 2:07.69.

The senior captain still has two more events at the national championships. On Friday she will compete in the 100 breaststroke, in which she is seeded 31st and on Saturday she has the 200 breaststroke where she is seeded 12th.

Competition will resume tomorrow with preliminary races beginning at 10 a.m.
