MEDFORD, Mass. – Senior tri-captain Anna Kimura of the Tufts University women's swimming and diving team will represent the squad at the NCAA Championships in two weeks in Indianapolis, Ind.
Kimura will be making her first appearance on the national stage and will be the lone member of the women's team traveling to the event. She will be competing in three events in Indianapolis. Kimura is seeded 12th in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:19.44. In the 100 breaststroke, she is seeded 31st with a 1:05.47. And in the 200 IM her time of 2:07.35 seeds her 35th.
Kimura had a strong season and a solid conference championship. She helped to set a program record at NESCACs in the 400 medley relay and then had the best finish out of anyone on the team when she took second place in the 200 breaststroke. On the season, Kimura has snagged a combined six first-place finishes in individual and relay competitions.
Nationals will begin on Wednesday, March 21 and last four days, concluding on Saturday the 24. Kimura's events will be spread out over the four days, with the 200 IM on Wednesday, the 100 breaststroke on Friday, and the 200 breaststroke on Saturday.
The 2018 Championships are being contested at the Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis Natatorium.
