WOMEN'S SAILING SENIOR SARA CARNAHAN RECOGNIZED AS ALL-REGION CREW

MEDFORD - Senior crew Sara Carnahan (Crosslake, MN) of the Tufts women's sailing team was named to the 2011 All-New England Intercollegiate Sailing Association (NEISA) Crews Second Team recently. She was the only member of the Tufts team honored by NEISA.

During the spring season, Carnahan was a part of a Tufts team that narrowly missed qualifying for the Intercollegiate Sailing Association's Women's Championship. As an A Division crew at the New England Championship, she helped Tufts finish eighth overall when the top seven teams qualified. During the season, she helped the Jumbos sail to back-to-back fifth-place efforts at BU's President's Trophy and at Coast Guard's Wick/Shrew Trophies.

In the fall, Carnahan was a member of A Divison when the Jumbos had a solid fourth-place finish at the Atlantic Coast Championships November 13-14.she was part of the A crew that won their division and helped Tufts place first overall at Boston University's Regis Bowl.

The Tufts women's sailing team was 14th in the May 4 Sailing World college rankings.
