Linfield College, the top home run hitting team in the nation, blasted three solo shots on Sunday afternoon and eliminated Tufts, 4-1, in Game #9 at the NCAA Softball Championships. The Jumbos (41-7) end their season by tying for fifth-place nationally.

Bats Return for Tufts Softball in 7-1 Win over Plattsburgh in NCAA Elimination Game

The Tufts softball team stayed alive at the 2012 NCAA Finals with a 7-1 win over Plattsburgh State in an elimination game on Saturday afternoon at the Moyer Complex. Held to one hit in a 1-0 loss against Roanoke to open NCAA Finals play on Friday night, the Jumbos had 11 hits this afternoon.

First-year pitcher Kelly Higbie threw a one-hitter and junior RF Hollee Warlitner delivered a two-out rbi double in the top of the sixth inning as the Roanoke College Maroons defeated the Tufts Jumbos, 1-0, at the NCAA Softball Finals on Friday evening at the Moyer Complex.
