Sailing's Matthew Keller 12th at New England Men's Single-handed Championship

DORCHESTER – Sophomore Matthew Keller of the Tufts University sailing team placed 12th out of 20 competitors as the 2018 New England Single-handed Championships hosted by Boston College on Saturday and Sunday.

The top four finishers at New England's advance to the Intercollegiate Sailing Association Championships in Michigan November 2-4. Harvard freshman Henry Marshall won the New England title with a score of 37. Runner-up Scott Rasmussen from Boston College had a 47 score. Third-place senior Patrick Shanahan from Brown (56) and Boston University sophomore Javier De Urdanibia (67) round out the national qualifiers from New England.

Keller accumulated finishes totaling to 124 in his 11 races. He was 13 points behind 11th-place finisher Gabriel Hannon of Brown (111). Keller had a top finish of fifth in the seventh race, and was sixth in the ninth start. He posted sevenths in the third and 11th starts.
