Men's Cross Country Finshes Sixth at NESCAC Championship

Colin Raposo was the top finisher for the Jumbos

MEDFORD, Mass. – The Tufts University men's cross country team finished sixth today out of 11 teams at the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Championship today at Pineland Farms in Gray, Maine.

The Jumbos finished with a team score of 161. Amherst won the day with a team score of 35, followed by Middlebury in second with a 66, and host Bates in third with a 109.

Colin Raposo was Tufts' top finisher coming in 20th overall with a time of 25:55.7 across the eight-kilometer course. Brian Reaney was second for the Jumbos coming in 28th with a 26:10.0.

Dylan Jones was 30th overall with a 26:12.8. Christian Swenson (26:26.8) and Andrew Doherty Munro (26:27.7) rounded out Tufts' top five at 41st and 42nd overall.

Hiroto Watanabe (26:29.8) and Patrick Nero (26:30.4) both also finished in the top 50.

Dalton Tanner, Matt D'Anieri, Harry Steinberg, Tom DePalma, Michael Carnavos, Tom Doyle, Nic Gitter, and Sam Little all also competed for the Jumbos.

The team's next race will be on November 11 when they take part in the Division III New England Regionals.
