Men's Cross Country Finishes Sixth out of 14 Teams at NEICAAA Championship

Tom DePalma was Tufts' second finisher today. 

MEDFORD, Mass. – The Tufts University men's cross country team came in sixth out of 14 teams today in the JV race of the New England Inter-Collegiate Amateur Athletic Association Championship.

On a day where the varsity rested, the Jumbos totaled a team score of 150 with their top five runners being taken into account for scoring purposes. UMASS Lowell came in first with a score of 63, followed by MIT (69) and Vermont (77). Stonehill won the varsity race.

Matthew D'Anieri was the Jumbo's top finisher and 20th overall with a 26:56. He was followed by Tom DePalma (27:24), Harry Steinberg (27:25), and Nic Gitter (27:29) who finished 37th, 38th, and 40th respectively. Taylor Wurts rounded out Tufts' top five with a 27:56.

Tom Doyle, Joseph Berrafati, Dalton Tanner, Michael Kennedy, and Matthew McDermott all also competed for the Jumbos.

The team's next event will be next Satursday when they travel to Waterford, Connecticut to take part in the Connecticut College Invitational.
