Men's Cross Country Finishes 10th out of 26 at Purple Valley Classic

Brian Reaney was Tufts' top finisher today

MEDFORD, Mass. – The Tufts University men's cross country team finished 10th out of 26 teams in the 8-kilometer race at the Purple Valley Classic in Williamstown, Massachusetts this Saturday.

The Jumbos finished with an overall team score of 293 with the top five runners from each school being taken into account for scoring purposes. SUNY Geneseo came in first with an 87.

Junior Brain Reaney was the Jumbos' top finisher as he placed 40th overall with a time of 27:22.1. Junior Christian Swenson (27:29.4) and freshman Patrick Nero (27:38.6) were next for Tufts as they finished 48th and 53rd respectively.

Rounding out the top five for the Jumbos were junior Dylan Jones (28:04.4) who came in 74th and junior Colin Raposo (28:10.7) in 78th. Peter Horvath and Hiroto Watanabe were sixth and seventh for Tufts.

In addition, Michael Carnavos, Harry Steinberg, Tom Doyle, Dalton Tanner, Andrew Doherty Munro, Nic Gitter, Rory Buckman, James Gregoire, Joseph Berrafati, and Sam Little all competed for the Jumbos.

Up next for Tufts is the Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh next Firday.
