Men's Swimming and Diving Finish in Third Place at MIT Invitational

Bowen finished in the top three twice this weekend individually. 

MEDFORD, Mass. – The Tufts University men's swimming and diving team came in third place at the MIT Invitational this weekend. They finished with a team score of 1016.5. The competition consisted of events held from Friday through Sunday.

MIT claimed first place with a 1683 and NYU took second with a 1437. RPI, Wheaton, and Keene State were the other three teams in attendance.

A team of Kingsley Bowen, Matthew Manfre, Zach Wallace, and Roger Gu competed in the 200 medley relay and took fifth place with a 1:31.99. Bowen also took third place in the 100 butterfly with a 49.54. Gu and Wallace were the top Jumbo finishers in the 100 freestyle and 200 IM respectively.

James McElduff, Bowen, Lorenzo Lau, and Wallace also competed in the 400 freestyle relay and finished with a time of 3:07.32.

On the weekend, Gu and Bowen were the most decorated of the Tufts team. Gu claimed first place in the 50 freestyle on Saturday, while Bowen came in second in the 100 backstroke on Saturday and third in the 100 butterfly on Sunday. His They both also competed in numerous relays.

The team is in action again on Saturday when they compete at Wesleyan along with WPI and Williams.
