Men's Swimming & Diving Team Lands Academic Accolades For 2010-11 From CSCAA

MEDFORD - The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) recently released the 2011 Scholar All-America Team and Individual Awards. The Tufts University men's swimming & diving team was highly recognized.

Teams must hold an average cumulative grade point average (gpa) of 3.0 or higher in the fall and winter/spring semesters to receive the team award. The Tufts Men were ranked 14th of 60 teams, with a cumulative 3.41 gpa. They were second among New England Small College Athletic Conference squads.

Individuals to be named Scholar All-Americans must post a gpa of 3.5 or higher and qualify for the NCAA Championship meet in their respective events. Jumbos to receive this honor were Gordy Jenkins (Kansas City, MO), Owen Rood (Branford, CT), Zed Debbaut (Hood River, OR), EJ Testa (Cheshire, CT), Michael Del Moro (Pequannock, NJ) and David Meyer (Clarendon Hills, IL).

Tufts Swimming and Diving kicks off their 2011-2012 season on November 19 against Middlebury.
