Captain Sam Williams Prepared for Senior Season by Playing With Region's Best As men’s soccer senior captain Sam Williams entered his last summer vacation before his final year on the hill as an undergrad, he was searching for a way to maintain his skills on the pitch in an effort to make his senior season as a Jumbo his finest one yet. The center back exceeded his expectations when he not only found himself cultivating his skills, but doing it in the most competitive amateur league in the country, alongside some of the nation’s best young talent. Men's Soccer Avenges Last Season's OT Loss to Wes With OT Victory September 17, 2014 In a repeat of last year's matchup, 5-0 Tufts and 2-1-2 Wesleyan found themselves knotted at 0-0 at the end of regulation. But this year, the face of the victor was a Jumbo instead of a Cardinal, as the 'Bos avenged their 2013 overtime loss to Wes. Monil Patel headed in the game-winner to record his first goal of the season and to help keep the Jumbos undefeated streak alive. (MORE)
This Week in Tufts University Athletics - September 16-23, 2014 September 15, 2014 Football opens their season this weekend hosting Hamilton at Ellis Oval / Zimman Field for a 1:00 pm contest. Also opening up their NESCAC portion of the schedule will be the volleyball team, as they travel up to Maine to take on Colby and Bowdoin. Fifth ranked field hockey has a mid week contest with NESCAC rival Wesleyan before traveling down to Virginia to take on #7 ranked Christopher Newport. (MORE)
