MEDFORD, Mass. – Senior midfielder Frank Hattler of the Tufts University men's lacrosse team has been selected as one of the 10 members of the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Division III Team of the Week, as announced by the association Tuesday.
This will be Hattler's second award of the week, having been named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Player of the Week on Monday, for his performance in a pair of wins last week. He totaled 10 points on the week with nine goals and one assist. He had a career-high seven goals and eight points in Tufts' 16-15 double overtime victory against No. 14 SUNY Cortland in which he scored the game-winner.
Hattler is the second member of the men's lacrosse team to be selected by the USILA for a Team of the Week this season. Ben Connelly was named to the team on March 13 when he had a huge week of his own.
The Jumbos are currently 6-0 and 3-0 in NESCAC play, with their next three games coming against conference opponents, two of them being ranked with No. 5 Wesleyan and No. 20 Connecticut College. Tufts is ranked as the No. 3 team in the nation in Division III at the moment.
The squad will face the Camels this Saturday at Bello Field.
