MEDFORD - Andy Davis and Conor Pieri, 2011 Tufts graduates and four-year members of the Jumbo hockey team under head coach Brian Murhpy, have extended their playing careers in Europe this season.

Davis, a Tufts team captain last season, is playing for the Grefrather Phoenix in Germany. They play in the Regionalliga NRW (North Rhine West) and are in Division 4. As is common in Europe, hockey programs are made up of many levels consisting of different age groups. Davis will be coaching the younger teams and playing for the highest team in their organization.

"I would not be able to play over in Europe if I didn't grow so much as a player and person while playing for Coach Murphy at Tufts," Davis said.

Pieri is playing for the Tornion Ice Hockey Club in the fourth league in Finland. Visit the team's eliteprospects.com website at:

"We are one of the better teams in the fourth division and should be playing for qualification to the third league by November if all works out," Pieri reported from Finland.
