Fan The Fire at Tufts Hockey's "Pink in the Rink" Event on January 21

MEDFORD - The first Tufts Athletics "Fan The Fire" event of the second semester will be held on Saturday, January 21 when the Jumbo Hockey team hosts "Pink In the Rink" to support cancer research and awareness.

Tufts plays a NESCAC game against Trinity College that evening beginning at 6:30 pm. Fan buses for the game will leave from the Mayer Campus Center at 5:15 pm in order to arrive in plenty of time for participation in several pre-game activities. The first 100 fans to fill the buses will receive a free Fan The Fire t-shirt. The t-shirts given away will be brown with the logos shown in the feature picture at the entrance to this article.

The Jumbo team will wear a special edition game shirt, one of which will be raffled off after the second period. Fans can purchase raffle tickets to win the shirt at the rink, with proceeds going to cancer research and awareness. Special Jumbo "Pink in the Rink" pucks will also be sold at the rink.

Fan the Fire: Spirit, Sports, Service celebrates Jumbo pride and energizes the spirit of active citizenship across the entire Tufts community. Rooted in the tradition of public service at Tufts Athletics, it is inspired by the many charitable activities that teams are currently undertaking.

Two successful Fan The Fire events were held during the fall semester at Tufts soccer and basketball double-headers. Jumbos can now "Fan the Fire" to start a new semester by joining the crowd at Tufts Hockey's "Pink in the Rink" to show your support for Jumbos and the causes they embrace on January 21!
