Men's Crew Competed at the Green Mountain Head on Sunday

Ashton Knight was the Jumbos' top finsher in the 1x- 19-34

MEDFORD, Mass. – The Tufts University men's crew team competed at the Green Mountain Head competition in Putnam, Vermont yesterday. The team competed in two separate events, the 1x- U19 and the 1x- 19-34.

In Tufts' other event, the 1x- 19-34, the Jumbos sent out 11 racers. Ashton Knight was Tufts' top finisher as he came in 15th overall with a time of 21:04.1. Ryan Bell and Thomas Hendrickson were next for the Jumbos finishing 17th and 18th with times of 21:21.2 and 21:24.5 respectively. Paul Gelhaus rounded out the race's top 20 as he finished with a time of 21:50.7.In the 1x- U19, the Jumbos had one competitor, Charles Cornillie. He came in 10th overall with a time of 21:40.4. First place in the heat went to Blake Evens from the GMS Rowing Club with a time of 20:05.1.

Also competing in the second race for the Jumbos were Mats Edwards (21:55.1), Adrian Tanner (21:57.2), Isaac Mudge (21:58.3), James Miller (21:59.0), Sam Agnew (22:32.1), Tyler Hagedorn (22:34.4), and Alec Whipple (22:37.5). Hugh McAdam, who competed as an unaffiliated racer, won the heat with a time of 19:13.6.

The crew team's next event is Saturday the 14th when they compete in The Hadley Chase in South Hadley.
