MEDFORD - Senior co-captain Vincent Pace capped his Tufts University basketball career by being named to the D3hoops.com All-Northeast Region fourth team announced today. It's the first D3hoops regional honor of his career.
One of the Jumbo modern era's most talented scorers, Pace recently finished his career 10th on Tufts all-time scoring list with 1,395 points. He's third among players who have graduated since 2000.
Pace finished third in NESCAC scoring 18.3 points per game in 24 contests this season. He was also fifth in the league averaging 8.3 rebounds per game. His averages in the 10 NESCAC games were 17.6 points and 8.3 rebounds. His 67 made field goals in conference games were second-most in NESCAC, as were his 69 defensive rebounds. He also added 2.5 assists per game, and his 2.7 assists mark in NESCAC contests was also in the top 10.
Ten times during the 2017-18 season Pace topped 20 points. He had a season-high 30 at Emerson on December 6 and scored 27 at home against Amherst on February 2. Finishing with double figures in rebounds nine times, his season-high was 13 on December 29 at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps during the team's winter trip to California.
Pace was a member of a senior class that won 75 games at Tufts, including NCAA Tournament runs to the Elite Eight in 2016 and the Sweet 16 in 2017. The Jumbos finished 17-8 this season.
