Academic All-NESCAC Selections for 2011-12 Winter Sports Include 91 Jumbo Student-Athletes
Ninety-one winter sport athletes at Tufts were awarded Academic All-New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) honors on Wednesday. Recipients have achieved at least sophomore academic standing with a grade point average of 3.35 or better and are letter-winners on their teams.

Anderson, Ferris Honored as NESCAC Announces 2012 Men's Basketball All-Conference Selections
The 2011-12 Tufts men's basketball team enjoyed its finest season in several years, and two players who led the Jumbos received NESCAC All-Conference recognition today. Junior tri-captain and forward Scott Anderson (Sudbury, MA) is on the All-Conference second team. Freshman Ben Ferris (Essex Junction, VT) was picked as the Rookie of the Year.

Bates College Advances Past Tufts to NESCAC Championship Semi-finals With 57-54 Victory
Visiting Bates College put together an 18-3 run covering more than nine minutes in the second half to gain an advantage and eventually took a 57-54 victory at Tufts in the quarterfinal round of the NESCAC Championship on Saturday afternoon at Cousens Gym. Tufts missed two three-point attempts in the final seconds that would have sent the game to overtime.

Tufts University had four different double-digit scorers to grab its sixth win in seven games, 67-62, over Bates College in NESCAC men's basketball action on Saturday afternoon at Cousens Gym. With the victory, the Jumbos are now alone in third place in the conference at 5-2.

For the second straight game, junior Shasha Brown scored the deciding points in a one-point Wesleyan men's basketball victory as his drive from end-to-end with 5.1 seconds to go resulted in a soft jumper from the lane at the buzzer that danced on the rim and fell through as the horn sounded to give the Cardinals a 58-57 triumph over visiting Tufts here tonight.

Ferris' Contributions to Wins Over Bowdoin and Colby Earn NESCAC Men's Basketball Honor
Ben Ferris (Essex Junction, VT) of the Tufts men's basketball team has introduced himself as one of the best freshman players in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) this season. After leading Tufts to a win at Williams on January 6, Ferris helped the Jumbos defeat Bowdoin and Colby this past weekend and has been awarded the conference's Player of the Week honor.
