JUMBO GOLF TEAM PLACES SEVENTH AT WORCESTER STATE INVITATIONAL
Seniors Lindsay Walker (Castlegar, BC) and Caleb Shapiro (Mamaroneck, NY) both shot 81 to lead the Tufts golf team at the Worester State Invitational held at the par-72, 6,655-yard Sterling National Country Club on Tuesday afternoon.

GOLFERS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PACK WITH SIXTH-PLACE FINISH AT WNEC INVITATIONAL
Tufts senior Lindsay Walker (Castlegar, BC) shot six-over par 78 to help the Jumbo golf team place sixth out of 12 teams at the WNEC Invitational held at the 6,433-yard Veterans Memorial Golf Course on Thursday afternoon.

GOLF OPENS SPRING SEASON WITH EIGHTH PLACE AT UMASS DARTMOUTH'S INVITATIONAL
The Tufts University golf team began its 2011 season over the weekend at the Hampton Inn Spring Invitational hosted by UMass Dartmouth at the par 72 Allendale Country Club. The Jumbos placed eighth out of 18 teams with a two-day score of 676 strokes.

EIGHT TUFTS FALL ATHLETES CHOSEN FOR NESCAC SPORTSMANSHIP HONOR
The New England Small College Athletic Conference announced the 2010 Fall All-Sportsmanship Team for each sport sponsored by the conference. Eight Tufts athletes from fall sports were recognized.

NCAA RACE EXPERIENCE ON WILFERT'S SIDE HEADING INTO SATURDAY'S CROSS COUNTRY NATIONALS
Tufts senior Amy Wilfert (Westborough, MA) of the women's cross country team will have none of the nerves that come with competing at the NCAA National Championship Race. She's done it twice before.

JUMBO GOLFERS TIE FOR 30TH AT 76TH ANNUAL NEIGA CHAMPIONSHIP
Teams from 37 colleges and universities across New England gathered Sunday through Tuesday (Oct. 17-19) for the 76th annual New England Intercollegiate Golf Championship. The event attracted 182 golfers to The CaptainsGolf Course and its 36-hole layout on Cape Cod.Tufts tied for 30th overall with a two-day total of 666 strokes on the par 72 course.

MOLL TIES FOR EIGHTH INDIVIDUALLY, BUT GOLF TEAM SCORES 11TH AT NICHOLS
Jumbo senior Dan Moll (Newton, MA) shot a 78 to tie for eighth out of 65 golfers at the Bison Invitational hosted by Nichols College at the par-72, 6,483-yard Green Hill Golf Course Sunday afternoon. The Tufts team finished 11th with a 330 combined total that was just six strokes out of fifth place at the tightly contested tournament.

JUMBO GOLF PLACES EIGHTH IN 2010 NESCAC CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFIER
The Tufts University golf team placed eighth out of 10 schools at the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Qualifier over the weekend at Shuttle Meadow Country Club (par 71). The top four finishers - Middlebury, Williams, Amherst and Trinity - will compete for the conference title and an automatic NCAA Tournament berth in the spring.

VIK TIES FOR SECOND INDIVIDUALLY AS GOLF FINSIHES EIGHTH AT WILLIAMS INVITATIONAL
Freshman Sebastian Vik shot a two-round 145 to tie for second individually out of 93 golfers competing at the Williams Invitational on the par 71 Taconic Golf Club on Saturday and Sunday. He shot par (71) on Saturday, followed by a 74 on Sunday to lead Tufts to an eighth-place effort out of 18 schools.

The Tufts University golf team tied for 11th place out of 25 entrants at the 27th Annual Duke Nelson Invitational hosted by Middlebury College at the par 71 Ralph Myhre Golf Course.
