Dyer, Griffith to Play in National Field Hockey Coaches Association Senior All-Star Game on Saturday

MEDFORD - Senior co-captains Taylor Dyer (Windham, NH) and Lindsay Griffith (Wilmington, DE) of the Tufts field hockey team will play in the 2011 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III Senior Game on Saturday (Nov. 19) at Nichols College.
This year's Senior Game will feature three teams facing off against each other in a series of 25-minute periods. Game time is tentatively set for 5 pm.
Dyer was the fourth leading scorer on the team this year with six goals, one of which was the game-winner against Trinity in overtime on a penalty stroke. She also tallied three assists. She helped the Jumbos on both sides of the ball by leading the team with 50 shots as well as two defensive saves. Dyer also anchored a defense that allowed only 16 goals this year. She started in every game (a total of 74) that Tufts played during her four years.
Griffith was the Jumbos’ leading scorer this season with 10 goals and three assists. Her highlights from this season include the game-winning goal with 2:07 left in regulation against Colby and her hat trick against Springfield. For her career, she finished with 21 goals and nine assists. She was a starter in every game for the last three years, and played in 17 games in her first year.
Nichols College is the host site of the NCAA Field Hockey Division III Championship semi-finals and final this weekend.
