Jumbo SS Sam Sager Earns Spot on D3Baseball.com All-New England Third Team

MEDFORD - Tufts senior shortstop Sam Sager (Cranston, RI), who shared the NESCAC batting title and fielded .980 for the season, was named to the D3Baseball.com All-New England Team on Tuesday.

This is the third award of the 2012 season for Sager. He was a first-team selection at shortstop by the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) and by the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Associaton (NEIBA). Sager will play in the 2012 NEIBA All-Star Game on Monday, June 4 at LeLacheur Park in Lowell, Mass.

Sager finished at .400 on the dot, with 54 hits in 135 at bats. He doubled 14 times and scored 41 runs. In the field, he made 53 put-outs and had 92 assists while committing just three errors.
