Coach John Casey named 4th VP of ABCA, receives Huck Geary Award from Boston Park League

MEDFORD - Tufts baseball head coach John Casey, now in his 29th season leading the Jumbos, recently added to the long list of accomplishments and honors that he's had in his career.

Casey was voted to the position of Fourth Vice President on the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Executive Committee. The ABCA is the primary professional organization for baseball coaches at the amateur level with over 6,200 members representing all 50 states and 22 countries. Casey recently completed a term as chair of the NCAA Division III National and New England baseball committees.

On November 11 Casey received the Huck Geary Achievement Award from the Boston Park League, America's oldest amateur baseball league. In November 1999, Coach Casey was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the Boston Park League.

Casey's Tufts teams have compiled a 530-333-4 record under his leadership since 1984.
