Directions to Tufts University Athletics Facilities

* To Steve Tisch Sports and Fitness Center, Bello Field (Field Hockey, Lacrosse); Cousens Gym (Volleyball, Basketball, Squash); Gantcher Center (Track & Field, Tennis); Huskins Field (Baseball); Spicer Field (Softball); Hamilton Pool (Swimming & Diving).

From the southwest, west, or northwest via Routes 2, 3, 9 Interstate 95, or the Massachusetts Turnpike (Interstate 90), the easiest approach to the campus is to turn from any of these routes onto the circumferential Route 128 (Interstate 95) and proceed to its intersection with Route 2 (exit 29A). Proceed east on Route 2 to the junction of Routes 2 and 16 and turn onto Route 16 east (Alewife Brook Parkway). Follow Route 16 through two full traffic lights. Take the next right, a sharp turn, onto Powderhouse Boulevard. Proceed to Curtis Street, your second left, which is your second set of lights. Follow Curtis Street up and over the hill, through a set of lights on the other side, and take a right at the variety store, onto George Street. Follow George Street to the first stop sign and take a right onto College Avenue. Cousens Gym will be 100 yards on your right. The Athletic Offices are located on the second floor of the EECS building (Halligan Hall) attached on the left of Cousens Gym. The Gantcher Center and Hamilton Pool are attached to Cousens Gym on the right. Bello, Huskins and Spicer Fields are across the street from Cousens Gym, beyond the parking lot.

From Boston, the south, & the South Shore, follow the Southeast Expressway (Route 3 North) to Interstate 93 north to exit 32, Medford Square. Follow the exit ramp to Medford Square. At the blinker at the end of the ramp, turn left onto Main Street. *Follow Main Street for approximately 3/10 of a mile, keeping to the right of the Mobil gas station. Turn right onto George Street, then left onto College Avenue. Cousens Gym will be 100 yards on your right. The Athletic Offices are located on the second floor of the EECS building (Halligan Hall attached on the left of Cousens Gym. From the north via Routes 1, 3, 128, Interstates 95 or 93, the recommended approach is via the circumferential Route 128 (Interstate 95) to its intersection with Interstate 93. Go south on Interstate 93 to exit 32, Medford Square. Proceed to the center of the square, turn left onto Main Street, and refer to the directions in the preceding paragraph*.

From the southwest, west, or northwest via Routes 2, 3, 9 Interstate 95, or the Massachusetts Turnpike (Interstate 90), the easiest approach to the campus is to turn from any of these routes onto the circumferential Route 128 (Interstate 95) and proceed to its intersection with Route 2 (exit 29A). Look for the opening to the parking lot/field on your left.

From the north via Routes 1, 3, 128, Interstates 95 or 93, the recommended approach is via the circumferential Route 128 (Interstate 95) to its intersection with Interstate 93. Go south on Interstate 93 to exit 32, Medford Square. Proceed to the center of the square, turn left onto Main Street, and refer to the directions in the preceding paragraph.

From the Great Boston area Take the Massachusetts Turnpike (Interstate 90) to exit 11-A (Route 495). Proceed north on Rte. 495 to Exit 23, Route 9 west. Proceed west on Rte. 9 for approximately 1 1/2 miles to Route 30 west. Follow Rte. 30 west into Westborough Center. Go through Westborough Center and continue on Route 30 for 4 miles.

From New Hampshire or Maine Follow major arteries to Route 495 south, then to Route 9 west. Take Route 9 to the Route 30 west, Westborough, exit. Follow Route 30 under Route 9 and into Westborough Center and continue on Route 30 for 4 miles

From Connecticut of western Massachusetts Take the Massachusetts Turnpike (Interstate 90) east to Exit 11, Millbury. Go right onto Route 122 for approximately 2 miles. Then make a sharp left onto Route 140 into North Grafton Center. Turn right onto Route 30 and travel about 2 miles.

 


*To Upper Mystic Lake for Sailing

From SOUTH: Route 95 North (from Providence) to Route 128 SOUTH (bear right) ... Route 128 South To Route 3 (I-93) North. Follow through Boston and stay on Route 93 ... four miles out of city, take Exit for Route 16 "Mystic Valley Parkway" ... follow Parkway for 2 miles and just after RR underpass, take right onto Boston Ave. ... follow to end (1 mile), then left and quick right onto Sagamore ... follow Sagamore to end, then right onto Mystic Valley Parkway for 1/4 mile (lower Mystic Lake is on your left)  then left in driveway. Boathouse is around to the right.

From the SOUTHWEST: Mass Pike (I-90) to Route 128 NORTH ... Route 128 North for 5 miles to Exit for Route 2 "Arlington/Cambridge" ... Follow Route 2 to the end, left LEFT at rotary onto Route 16 East ... Follow Route 16 for 2 miles to Boston Ave. (3rd major stoplight intersection) ... Left on Boston Ave. for 1 mile to end, then left and quick right onto Sagamore ... see last direction above.

From NORTH or NORTHEAST: I-95 South to 128 South to I-93 South ... Exit I-93 on Route 60 "Medford Square," following Route 60 three miles through Medford Square ... follow through rotary, through West Medford and then right onto Sagamore (at yellow flasher) ... see last direction above.

Take I-93 to exit 32. Off ramp, take Rt. 60 East for about 2.3 miles. After passing Ferry St., rink is on left next to High School. You will pass it on your left, then take next left to reverse direction on Rt. 60 to get to rink entrance.

From the South (Route 93):
Follow Route 93 North to exit 29: (Route 28/ Route 38). (You get to take the new underground artery and go over the Zakim Bridge. Stay to the left when you enter the tunnel).
At the bottom of the exit ramp bear right onto Route 28 North
Follow Route 28 North for approximately 1 mile to Wellington Circle. As you approach the lights get into the right lane.
Take a right onto Route 16 East. In consecutive order you pass the newly opened Kellys Roast Beef, then you will see the MBTA train yard on your right. (This all happens within about mile). Take the right hand exit part way up the incline and follow it back around underneath Route 16.
At the stop light go straight ahead onto Corporation Way.
Go about 0.3 (3/10) miles and take a right at the first curb cut after you pass the Citizens Bank Building.
Go in the long driveway and park in the upper lot.

From the West (Mass Pike):
Take Mass Pike all the way into Boston until it connects to the new Liberty Tunnel. Then follow signs for Route 93 North.
Follow Route 93 North to exit 29: (Route 28/ Route 38). (You get to take the new underground artery and go over the Zakim Bridge. Stay to the left when you enter the tunnel).

At end of the exit there is a rotary take the third right: (Route 60 East) Malden/Revere
Follow Route 60 East for approximately 1.7 miles until MBTA Station
Continue straight on Route 60 East under MBTA Bridge, take first right onto Commercial Street
Follow Commercial Street for approximately 1 mile to the light at Medford Street.
Go straight through light and proceed approximately 0.5 miles. You will pass Cooper Street on the left.
After Cooper Street take first left hand turn into curb cut.
Go in the long driveway and park in the upper lot.

From the North: Route 1
Follow Route 1 South to the exit for (99 South) Malden/Everett
As you leave the exit ramp you are on Broadway (99 South)
Follow Broadway (99 South) for approximately 1.6 miles to Eastern Ave.
Turn right onto Eastern Ave.
Follow Eastern Ave. for 2 miles to the intersection of Commercial Street
Turn left onto Commercial Street, follow it for approximately 1 mile
Follow Commercial Street for approximately 1 mile to the light at Medford Street.
Go straight through light and proceed approximately 0.5 miles. You will pass Cooper Street on the left.
After Cooper Street take first left hand turn into curb cut.
Go in the long driveway and park in the upper lot.

From the West: Route 2:
Come in on Route 2 East to Alewife Station. Turn Left onto Route 16 East - 2.2 miles
Take the RT-38 ramp towards MEDFORD SQ/MYSTIC AVE. - 0.11 miles
Merge onto SOUTH ST/MA-38. - 0.01 miles
Turn LEFT onto MAIN ST/MA-38. - 0.10 miles
Turn SLIGHT RIGHT onto CLIPPER SHIP DR
Follow Clipper Ship Drive through one set of lights and around to the right past Medford City Hall (on the right)
Turn RIGHT onto MA-60 E/SALEM ST. Pass into the roundabout. Coming around the backside of the roundabout after you cross under Route 93 continue onto Route 60 East
At end of the exit there is a rotary take the third right: (Route 60 East) Malden/Revere
Follow Route 60 East for approximately 1.7 miles until MBTA Station
Continue straight on Route 60 East under MBTA Bridge, take first right onto Commercial Street
Follow Commercial Street for approximately 1 mile to the light at Medford Street.
