MEDFORD - The 2016-17 winter sports teams at Tufts University placed 92 athletes on the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) All-Academic Teams released today.
A total of 939 student-athletes were named to the 2017 NESCAC Winter All-Academic Team by the conference office. To be honored, an individual must have reached sophomore academic standing and be a regular participant on their team with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.40. A transfer student must have completed one year of study at the institution.
The 92 Tufts honorees is third-most in the conference despite the fact that Tufts does not sponsor women's ice hockey, men's and women's alpine and nordic skiing and wrestling teams which are eligible to receive All-Academic honors in the winter.
