MEMBERS OF FIVE JUMBO TEAMS LEARN FROM THE RED SOX AT "ROAD TO THE SHOW" EVENT

MEDFORD - On September 13, members of five Tufts varsity sports teams learned what it is like to work for a successful business from senior level Red Sox Executives. The Jumbos attended the event at Fenway Park hosted by the Red Sox front office.

The program, "Road to the Show," gave current college students the opportunity to visit with approximately 20 members of the Red Sox front office, including President Larry Lucchino and Assistant General Manager Ben Cherrington. Twenty-five student-athletes from the Men's and Women’s Basketball, Ice Hockey, Softball and Baseball teams attended the event.

The program included an information session with Larry Lucchino, Ben Cherrington and other members of the front office where they gave insight on their experiences in professional baseball and answered questions provided by the audience. The students were then brought up to a pre-game reception where they were able to meet with approximately 20 members of the Red Sox office from a variety of departments.

The students then watched the game where Tim Wakefield collected his 200th career victory for Boston.

Tufts Athletics would like to offer a special thank you to the Red Sox and their front office for hosting the students-athletes.
